Rebecca received the Volunteer Lawyer Program's Volunteer of
the Year award at the annual Law Day gathering on April 29, 2011. Rebecca
served as both the program manager and a steering committee member for the
Volunteer lawyer Program. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication,

2011 Liberty Bell Recipient - Maureen Harlan |
|
The 2011 Liberty Bell Award
winner was Maureen Harlan. She moved to La Conner when she was nine days old,
and is a graduate of La Conner High School. She has a Bachelor's degree in
English Education and a minor in Speech/Drama, and a Master's of Education in
School Counseling, all from Western Washington University. She received her
Principal credentials from Gonzaga University.
Maureen worked for the La Conner
School District as a teacher, counselor, and principal for 27 years. She has
also served as a prevention, intervention and safety specialist for the La
Conner School District. She has served
on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County, directs
the La Conner Schools/Community Theater productions, is member of the Museum of
NW Art (MoNA), and has volunteered with Leadership Skagit.
Maureen is married to Harold
"Mit" Harlan, has two children - Sara and Michael, and has two grandchildren |

The Volunteer Lawyer Program
welcomes Eva Wescott as its new manager. Catherine Brown transitioned to her new role as thePublic
Service Program Manager with the Washington State Bar Association in January.
Eva began working with the VLP in March. Since this time, Eva has worked with
volunteers on many projects, including the weekly family law clinics, the Law
Day Advice Clinic, Skagit Valley College clinics with the help of paralegal
students, quarterly immigration clinics, and much more. Eva looks forward to getting to know
all of the VLP volunteers and working to expand the VLP's services to
low-income clients. Please do not hesitate to contact her. |
